Levante Premium
A base in the middle of the old quarter of Artà, all year round. Six stages of its own from the eastern tip to the monastery on the Puig de Randa, with two transfers and pa amb oli.
East coast
Artà in Mallorca is a small town that climbs a hillside, with the fortified church of Sant Salvador at the top, a Tuesday market that draws half the Llevant, and more good restaurants than you can get through in a week. For us it is the favourite town in the east and the base of a cycling week that runs all year. You set your own pace and your own breaks.

Artà lies in the north-east of the island, the side where the sun rises. The old town runs up the hill to the fortified church of Sant Salvador, with a view over the whole bay. Tuesday brings one of the finest markets on the island, and in the evening you walk to dinner.
For cyclists it is a stroke of luck: the Via Verde, the old railway line from Manacor, ends a few hundred metres below the church at the edge of town. The eastern tip with Capdepera and Cala Rajada, the Llevant nature park with the Ermita de Betlem, and the wild coves of Cala Torta are all within a day's ride.
Stefan has lived on the island since 1992, and we live in Son Serra de Marina on the other side of the bay. More about the town on Wikipedia.

Right in the old town stands the Casa Santa Fe, a 19th-century town house, fully renovated, with six rooms, a courtyard for the morning coffee and a roof terrace from which you look over the tiled roofs to the church in the evening. Breakfast is served in the house on request, otherwise at the café two streets away.
What makes it special: the Casa Santa Fe is open all year. That makes Levante Premium the cycling week you can also book in winter, when the almond trees blossom and the roads are empty. More about the house: Casa Santa Fe.
