What awaits you
Artà is our favourite little town in the east: not too big, with an old quarter that climbs the hill, the fortified church of Sant Salvador on top, and enough good restaurants that you could eat somewhere different every evening for a week. It is why Ruedi and his friends come back every year.
The Casa Santa Fe stands right in the middle of it. A 19th-century town house, fully restored, with six rooms that all have a large bathroom and plenty of space. Add a pretty inner courtyard for your morning coffee and a roof terrace from which you look out in the evening over the tiled roofs to the church. Breakfast is served in the house on request, otherwise two streets away in the café.
What makes it special: the Casa Santa Fe is open all year. That makes Levante Premium the one cycling week of ours you can also book in winter, when the almond trees are in blossom and the roads are empty.
How it differs from the Sternfahrt Levante
Same region, but its own stages from Artà, a town house instead of a finca, an old quarter instead of country life. If you like wandering through lanes in the evening, take Premium. If you want the pool with the sea view, take Ses Cases de Fetget.
We are repeat offenders, but why? For one thing, we like the nature on Mallorca a great deal, and we got more than enough of it on the routes Stefan and Uli had picked out so carefully. The tours are perfectly manageable for anyone, changes and short cuts are always possible, and the pick-up and drop-off service is faultless. And then there is the little town of Artà, which is simply wonderful. We can warmly recommend the Santa Fe as a place to stay too. The warmth and friendliness here are genuine. We liked it so much that we are coming back next year.
