Sternfahrt Ariany/Sineu
The heart of Mallorca by bike: open fields, small villages, the market at Sineu and places where time seems to have stopped. Every evening back to the same finca.
Centre of the island
Sineu in Mallorca sits right in the middle of the island, with the oldest market on Mallorca on Wednesdays, cellers serving frit and shoulder of lamb, and a railway station in case you fancy Palma on a rest day. From here you have Mallorca in every direction. We have been running our first hub tour from exactly here since 2010. You set your own pace and your own breaks.

Sineu lies exactly in the middle of Mallorca, in the Pla, between open fields and villages where time seems to have stopped. It has a market square, cellers with big barrels and a station where the train from Palma and Manacor stops. Bikes travel free of charge.
That is exactly why we start here: from Sineu, the south-east coast with Porto Colom, the vineyards of Binissalem, the bay of Pollença and the wild beach at Son Serra de Marina are all within a day's ride. More about the town on Wikipedia.

Tours
The heart of Mallorca by bike: open fields, small villages, the market at Sineu and places where time seems to have stopped. Every evening back to the same finca.
The basic programme: the stages of the Sternfahrt Sineu, one transfer, maps, GPX and hotline. Fewer extras, a smaller price. Ideal for a first cycling week on Mallorca.
The rather different cycling tour: four petit hotels right across the island, six stages, and your luggage already waiting in the next house. Riding with luggage can be this comfortable.

A market has been held in Sineu every Wednesday since 1306, a privilege granted by King Jaume II, and livestock is still sold on a handshake. Down by the old station stand the pens with hens, goats and black pigs; up the lanes to the church of Santa Maria there are vegetables straight from the field, olives, cheese and ensaimada.
On the hub tour, Wednesday is deliberately the shortest stage: 40 kilometres, so there is plenty of market left. Staying in Sineu, you simply walk there. How to make the most of it is in our guide Wednesday is market day in Sineu.

All stages are easy and manageable even for riders without much practice. On four days out of six we say: do not forget your swimming things.
Sa Barcella is a large village house with five double rooms, a patio and a pool, shared with the other cyclists of the week, a hundred metres from the market square. Our guests mention the breakfast in the patio in every review.
The Can Serrete Boutique Hotel is the option with your own door: eight double rooms and a suite, a courtyard with a pool and a small bar. It can be booked from mid-March to the end of June and from late August to the end of October.

The Sternfahrt Ariany/Sineu is our first tour and still the one we recommend first, with transfers, pa amb oli and wine tasting, arriving on Saturdays, all year. The Sternfahrt Sineu BASIC rides the same centre of the island with fewer extras and a lower price.
How a week without a guide works is explained under self-guided cycling holidays in Mallorca.
