Sternfahrt Levante
The east of Mallorca is called Llevant, and it is the side of the island where the sun comes up. Between Son Servera and Artà lies Ses Cases de Fetget, a 17th-century finca with a pool and a sea view, and from here you ride out in a star pattern for a week: to the coves of the Costa dels Pins, into the caves at Artà, up to the Ermita de Betlem, down to the harbour at Porto Cristo.
Every evening you come back, your luggage stays where it is, and the restaurant in the house cooks. Wake up to a sea view, return in the evening to the same beautiful finca. In between, the real eastern Mallorca.
What your week looks like
On the first riding day you roll along the Via Verde to Artà and back over the Camí de Sa Carrossa. Then the shortest stage of the week: the coast from the Cap des Pinar to the ruins of the Castell d’en Amer, and do not forget your swimming things. On the third day the longest: Canyamel, the Coves d’Artà, the lighthouse at Cala Rajada and the castle at Capdepera, with entry included.
Mid-week belongs to the Via Verde as far as Manacor, our most demanding stage, and then comes the day of choice: the Ermita de Betlem with a view as far as Menorca, or the wild coves of Cala Torta, or both. To finish we drive you up to the Sant Salvador monastery in the morning and you roll back through Felanitx and Porto Cristo. A treat for the senses.
Who feels at home here
Anyone who wants to see the sea without living in a hotel block. Anyone who wants to eat out in Artà or Cala Rajada and still sleep in the country. And anyone who puts pleasure above performance: the stages are 40 to 65 kilometres, there is a cove to jump into on almost every day, and the climb to the hermitage is voluntary.

Your route day by day
Six stages, and each morning you decide how far you go today.
Sunday is arrival day. We will collect you from the airport if you like: it is a good 70 kilometres to the finca between Son Servera and Artà. In the afternoon we set the bikes up for you, lay out maps and GPX and go through the week together.
And after that: pool, sea view, dinner in the house. Tomorrow it begins.

Today you leave your finca hotel along the Via Verde, the old railway line, towards Artà. The town climbs the hill, and the fortified church of Sant Salvador sits on top with a view over the whole bay. On Tuesdays one of the island’s finest markets is held here; if you do not want to miss it, simply swap this stage with day 3 and we will help you plan.
With your bags full you carry on along the Camí de Sa Carrossa to Sant Llorenç and, after a short loop in the hills, back through Son Carrió to Son Servera. A relaxed first day for getting to know the bike and your legs.

Do not forget your swimming things today, because you are heading for the east coast. From the Cap des Pinar along the coast to the Castell d’en Amer there are plenty of inviting places to swim and lie in the sun: small coves, a stretch of pine woods, then the sea again.
Culture does not go short either today, because the old castle ruins at d’en Amer invite you to explore. The shortest stage of the week, and still the one with the most photographs.

Today too you would do well to pack your swimming things, because the route goes to the bay of Canyamel, where you can jump into the cool water after visiting the Coves d’Artà. The caves lie right above the sea, and anyone who has had enough of steps after the climb to the entrance simply sits down by the water.
You carry on to Cala Rajada with its still fairly idyllic harbour and its imposing lighthouse, then back through Capdepera to Son Servera. Entry to the castle at Capdepera is part of the package; the view from the wall along the whole east coast is free. The longest stage of the week.

Today gets serious: you ride the whole length of the Via Verde to Manacor. Do not forget to turn off at the old stations into the villages alongside; there you will find coffee, ensaimada and shade. Manacor itself is the town of pearls and furniture, and it has a very respectable market.
Then it is on through rolling country to Sant Llorenç and, after the last climb, back to the familiar hotel. This is our most demanding stage, and that is exactly why it falls mid-week, when your legs are warm. Cut it short if you want; call us and we will pick you up if you would rather.

Today is a beach day. Or is it? You choose: through Artà and up to the Ermita de Betlem at 320 metres. Do not miss the view from up there; on clear days you can see as far as Menorca, and the monks did not choose the spot by accident.
Or you ride down to the coves of Cala Torta and Cala Mitjana, wild, no bar, no sunbeds, just sand and water. Or both, and then it comes to 60 kilometres. Do not forget the sun cream! After the ride back you drift into the hotel and take it easy.

In the morning we drive you up to the Sant Salvador monastery above Felanitx, the starting point for today’s stage. So you begin the day with a long descent and a view over half the south of the island. From there you explore more of Mallorca’s places and landscapes along slightly different routes: Felanitx, quiet Son Macià, then down to the harbour at Porto Cristo.
Enjoy the views and take it easy at one of the many places to stop along the way; through Son Carrió you roll back to Son Servera. A treat for the senses and a worthy last riding day. In the evening: wine on the terrace.

Sunday. One last breakfast looking out over the almond trees, then we take you to the airport if you like. If you want to stay on, tell us: we know a few lovely houses on the coast. Ride well, your Radundfinca team.

What guests ask us beforehand
You only ride alone if you want to. Our tours are unguided: you set your own pace and your own breaks, and there is no group to keep up with. In our experience a small group forms on the first evening and heads off together. You do not have to find anything: you get maps, GPX files for your phone or GPS and our arrows on the road signs. And if something does come up, we are on the phone.
If you ride 40 kilometres along a flat route at home on a weekend, you are fit enough. The stages are 40 to 70 kilometres, easy to moderate, with plenty of stops in places where stopping is a pleasure. There are no big climbs, and the ones that get in the way can be ridden around. On an e-bike it is more relaxed still.
Then you take it off. On a sternfahrt you sleep in the same house every night, so the day is simply free: pool, market, train to Palma. On the PetitHotel Tour we will take you on to the next house with the luggage if you like. And if your legs give up out on the road, our biketaxi comes for you: your location on WhatsApp is enough.
On the sternfahrten you unpack once and leave your case in the room all week. On the PetitHotel Tour we drive your luggage from house to house, and it is in the room before you get off the bike. For the day you get a pannier and a handlebar bag for your maps.
Yes, outside built-up areas a helmet is compulsory in Spain, and inside them it is recommended. We give you a loaner helmet free of charge, though your own usually fits better. Safety first.
Easily: the stages have no fixed order. Ride the Artà loop on Tuesday and you will be at the market by midday. On the evening you arrive we tell you which stage fits best on which day, and the same goes for the weather.
