Sternfahrt Levante
Wake up to a sea view, come back in the evening to the same finca. In between, 40 to 65 kilometres through the real eastern Mallorca: Artà, Cala Rajada, the Via Verde and wild coves.
Our favourite loops
The best cycling routes in Mallorca for leisure riders are not the mountain passes but the lanes in between: the car-free Via Verde, the old camins through the almond groves, the coast road from Cala Rajada to Canyamel and the pine woods down to the beach at Son Serra de Marina. Stefan has been riding this island since 1992. Here are the loops we send our guests out on.

Each loop is 40 to 70 kilometres, easy to moderate, and comes with a note on where to stop for lunch and where to pack your swimming things.

Flat to rolling, with villages every few kilometres: Costitx, Lloret, Llubí, Búger, Montuïri with its pa amb oli, the vineyards of Binissalem. Our Sternfahrt Ariany/Sineu rides six loops from here.
Artà, Capdepera with its castle, Cala Rajada, the Ermita de Betlem at 320 metres with a view as far as Menorca, and the wild coves of Cala Torta. The Via Verde runs through the middle of it.
The bay of Alcúdia, the S'Albufera nature reserve with its reeds and windmills, Pollença and the Camí Vell. The last stage of our PetitHotel Tour leaves the choice to you: Formentor, the coves of Sant Vicenç or the beach at Muro.
We do not publish our GPX files, we send them. Write and tell us where you are staying and how many days you have, and we put together three to six loops and send them by email, each with a short description. If you like, our phone number comes with them, just in case. That is our GPX route suggestions service.
If you want more than the line on the map, day stages from your own front door with maps and reservations, have a look at route planning made for you. GPX is the standard format: Garmin, Wahoo, Komoot, Outdooractive and most phone apps read it.

The island railway runs from Palma by way of Sineu to Manacor and carries bikes free of charge, so you can start the Via Verde straight from the station. Timetables are on the TIB website.
In Spain a helmet is compulsory outside built-up areas, see the Spanish traffic authority DGT. And if you do not want to bring a bike, we deliver trekking bikes, mountain bikes and e-bikes to your finca or hotel: bike hire in Mallorca.

All of these routes are stages of our cycling weeks: a house, six stages, maps, GPX files, arrows on the road signs and a hotline seven days a week, ridden at your own pace with no group to keep up with. How a week works is explained under self-guided cycling holidays in Mallorca, the regions under cycling in Mallorca.
The Via Verde from Manacor to Artà: 28 kilometres of old railway line without cars and without any gradient worth mentioning, with tunnels, picnic spots and villages at the old stations.
We send them rather than publish them. Tell us where you are staying and how many days you have, and we email you three to six loops with a short description of each.
